Workshop Overview
This is a free training workshop hosted by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and the University of South Florida focused on the Safe Routes to School (SRTS) grant application. We’ll cover the necessary application criteria, provide resources, and offer guidance on creating a strong application for grant funds for Safe Routes to School initiatives.
The FDOT SRTS program is a statewide program that aims to make it safer for more children to walk and bicycle to school. The program strives to enable and encourage children in grades Kindergarten through High School to walk and bike to school. The program also aims to make walking and biking to school safer and more appealing, and to facilitate the planning, development, and implementation of projects that will improve safety in the vicinity of schools.
Eligible Applicants
To be considered for project funding, an entity needs to fill out and submit a grant application. Applicants can be a school or local government agency that will be the maintaining agency responsible for the infrastructure. Completion of this workshop is a requirement of the application process. The workshop will be recorded for those unable to participate live.
Certificates and Credits
This training will award a certificate to those fully attending and completing the session. Professional Development Hours will be provided to those that request these during registration. A total of 1.5 PDHs can be earned for fully attending this training.
