In this webinar, our instructor will teach you to look at what Crash Modification Factors are, where to find them, and how to properly use them. He will also show you some CMFs based on Florida’s data. We will look at common mistakes that people make when using CMFs and how you can avoid them to get the best answer for your safety analysis.
Attendees will learn that there are two different types of Crash Modification Factors in the Highway Safety Manual (HSM), and will learn the difference between a CMF and a CRF. And finally, attendees will learn how to find and choose the best CMF for analysis.

Instructor Bio:
Larry Hagen, P.E., PTOE, RSP is the owner of Hagen Consulting Services, LLC. He has worked in the public sector, the private sector, and academia. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) and a former board member of the Florida Section of ITE, serving as President in 2002. He holds Bachelors and Masters degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Florida. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Florida and Georgia, and is a certified Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) and a certified Road Safety Professional (RSP). He has over 30 years of experience doing transportation engineering work throughout the state of Florida.
