This 3-part series will go over the Road Safety Audit (or RSA) and its application as a formal safety performance examination of an existing or future road or intersection by an independent, multidisciplinary team. An RSA qualitatively estimates and reports on potential road safety issues and identifies opportunities for improvements in safety for all road users.
The training will cover the FHWA Road Safety Audit Guidelines and point you to resources you can access to learn more about RSAs and the benefits of RSAs. Important things you will learn include the formal RSA process, the need for an independent team, why it needs to be multidisciplinary, and what kinds of things are often found when doing an RSA.
