This webinar introduces enhanced Pavement Friction Management (PFM) framework and tools developed to support safety-focused and more effective 3R (Resurfacing, Restoration, and Rehabilitation) project selection. Participants will learn how friction data, roadway characteristics, and crash history are integrated with existing pavement condition rankings to enable proactive, data-driven decision making.

The session will present key results from FDOT-sponsored research conducted at the University of South Florida, showcasing updated tools for identifying safety concerns, measuring roadway performance, and improving how 3R projects are prioritized. The presenter will show an online tool that looks at both road condition and skid resistance to create one simple ranking. The webinar will conclude with time for participant questions and discussion.
