Motorcyclists face a disproportionately high risk of severe injury and fatality in traffic crashes, yet local safety plans often underrepresent their unique needs. This webinar, Motorcycle Safety in Local Safety Action Plans, highlights practical strategies and components that local agencies can incorporate into their safety action plans to more effectively address motorcyclist safety.

Drawing on national best practices, behavioral insights, and infrastructure-focused solutions, the presentation outlines a framework for developing motorcyclist-inclusive plans. Key components discussed include crash data analysis specific to motorcycles, targeted community engagement with riders, high-risk location identification, helmet use promotion, roadway design features that support safer riding, and enforcement and education campaigns tailored to motorcyclists.
