The National Operations Center of Excellence (NOCoE) shares knowledge and resources to assist transportation professional in applying transportation systems management & operations (TSMO) strategies. This webinar will present key TSMO resources being used by professional across the country and connect participants with how to grow their (and their team’s) knowledge, skills, and abilities. Additionally, the webinar will ask participants to discuss emerging trends in TSMO they see in their day-to-day work and how NOCoE can assist with those areas going forward.

Instructor Bios

Adam Hopps, Technical and Communications Lead, NOCoE

Adam Hopps leads technical services and communications activities for the National Operations Center of Excellence or NOCoE, which focuses on providing resources and sharing knowledge to advance the practice of transportation systems management and operations (TSMO). During his five years at NOCoE, across the several roles, Adam has led initiatives to expand access to resources and information for current and future TSMO practitioners, including building the NOCoE Case Study library, developing workforce development resources, and leading the Transportation Technology Tournament.

Previously, Adam spent 7 years at ITS America where he led projects for the U.S DOT ITS Joint Program office’s connected vehicle program, emergency management initiatives, and multimodal program.

Before working in transportation, Adam managed several bookstores in both San Francisco and Washington, DC. Adam has an educational background in European literature.

Luana Broshears, Technical Programs, NOCoE and Planning and Safety Director, ITE

Luana Broshears is the Planning and Safety Director at the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE), an international membership association of transportation professionals who work to improve mobility and safety for all transportation system users and help build smart and livable communities. She is also Technical Programs staff for the National Operations Center of Excellence (NOCoE), where she is primarily responsible for the development of NOCoE services such as webinars, peer exchanges, and summits.

Luana holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Brasilia, Brazil, and Masters and Ph.D. degrees in Civil Engineering, with emphasis on transportation safety, from Auburn University. She has worked in the public, private, and academic sectors, and her professional experience includes transportation safety, transportation impact analysis, traffic operations studies, parking studies, pedestrian and bicyclist studies, and review of development plans. Luana is a registered Professional Engineer and holds Professional Traffic Operations Engineer and Road Safety Professional certifications.
