The FHWA Emergency Relief Program (ER) Training is recommended for all Local Agencies seeking federal Emergency Relief funds after an emergency/disaster. These events may be attributed to nature or manmade, and your agency becomes eligible as soon as the governor or president declares the event an emergency/disaster. The intent of this training is to provide local government agencies with an overview of the FHWA Emergency Relief (ER)  program.  This training addresses the process of applying for and receiving Emergency Relief (ER) funds from FHWA for damages on Federal-aid eligible roadways.  Hurricane season is six months a year, don’t hesitate to learn more today!

The training will be led by FDOT and FHWA with presentation topics including:

  • Program overview
  • Application Process
  • Emergency Repair
  • Permanent Repair
  • Debris Removal
  • Detailed Damage Inspection Reports (DDIR)
  • Contracting Methods (Pre-Event Contracts)
  • Special Circumstances
  • Examples

Instructors want this to be an interactive training, focusing on specific information that you, the local agencies, want to know in regard to the ER program.  Please come prepared with lots of questions – nothing is too big or too small to ask!

This course is intended for Local Agency and/or Emergency Management staff involved in developing and/or managing emergency contracts for debris removal, emergency and permanent repair work or pre-event contracts for debris removal and other activities.

This webinar is being provided at no cost, and will award 3.0 PDHs for attending and completing the full session.

🚩Please note – space for these webinars is limited, and Florida local agencies are being given first priority on a first come, first served basis!
