Mobile LiDAR for Rigid Pavement Rehabilitation Projects

This presentation will demonstrate the use terrestrial mobile LiDAR (TML) and imagery for 3D design survey on rigid pavement rehabilitation projects. We will look at using high definition laser scanning to identify and index concrete pavement slabs and locating pavement joints, distressed pavement areas, and mapping pavement cracks.
The presentation will include guides on planning the TML missions, calibrating imagery with the LiDAR point cloud, using TopoDOT tools to assist with distressed mapping, and contour generation for easy identification of vertical slab differentiation. We will highlight benefits of using a ground-based LiDAR perspective versus a traditional LAMP methodology.
