Transportation Symposium Webinar Series: Least Squares Adjustments for Vertical Networks

October 14 @ 9:00 am - 10:00 am

Least Squares Adjustments for Vertical Networks

Presenter: Matt LaLuzerne

The presentation will demonstrate the need for least squares distribution of vertical error for elevations on design survey projects that have a remote sensing component. We will look at reasons why a least squares adjustment is important as well as the procedures and analysis of the adjustment.

The presentation will include a guide on planning the vertical level runs, how to include multiple control points as fixed elevations in the adjustment as well as statistical reporting and analysis. We will highlight benefits of using least squares procedures for photogrammetric and terrestrial mobile LiDAR control networks.
