Lane Elimination Guidance/Project Example

Lane elimination projects are a successful way to utilize existing space within a roadway which has excess capacity or changing transportation demands. Ways to analyze candidate Lane Elimination projects and factors that should be considered prior to implementation will be presented. Additionally, the process for documentation requirements and the review and approval process will be presented. Key considerations, best practices, and additional resources and guidance on the analysis and implementation of Lane Elimination projects will be discussed. A previously approved project example will be presented.

The Transportation Symposium 2020 has been converted to the Transportation Symposium Webinar series (Virtual format).

In an effort to continue to keep staff and our industry partners up-to-date with DOT policies, procedures and best practices we will be developing and implementing the Transportation Symposium Webinar Series, which will be providing weekly Symposium sessions starting June 9, 2020. PDH credits will be offered for the live version of the webinar. The recorded version will be posted to view at a later date.
