7 Mile Bridge Temporary Support System

Review of design and construction of the innovative high-capacity friction collars used to temporarily support the iconic 7 Mile Bridge during concrete repairs. This will include design approach including non-linear finite element contact analysis, construction and load testing procedures used to ensure public safety while supporting the bridge using friction only.

The Transportation Symposium 2020 has been converted to the Transportation Symposium Webinar series (Virtual format).

In an effort to continue to keep staff and our industry partners up-to-date with DOT policies, procedures and best practices we will be developing and implementing the Transportation Symposium Webinar Series, which will be providing weekly Symposium sessions starting June 9, 2020. PDH credits will be offered for the live version of the webinar. The recorded version will be posted to view at a later date.
