Traffic Signal Timing 301 – Part 2 of 3

π COURSE OVERVIEW
This 3-part series builds on Traffic Signal Timing 101 and 201 by walking participants through the full traffic signal timing project process – from identifying timing needs and collecting data to modeling, optimization, implementation, and evaluation. Participants will explore practical considerations for developing and implementing timing plans, reviewing field conditions, using modeling tools, fine-tuning operations, and evaluating before-and-after performance. The series is intended for transportation professionals involved in traffic signal operations, timing studies, corridor management, and project implementation.
βΆοΈ PART 2 of 3 – Modeling and Optimization (October 22, 2026 | 2:00 β 4:00pm ET)
In this second session, we will discuss how traffic signal models are developed, reviewed, and optimized. Topics will include modeling concepts, simulation and optimization tools, model calibration, Synchro modeling considerations, pattern development, cycle length selection, and comparison of optimization results.
πTARGET AUDIENCE: This series is intended for transportation professionals involved in traffic signal operations, timing, design, and management, including engineers, technicians, planners, consultants, and local agency staff seeking to strengthen their practical understanding of the traffic signal timing process.
β This webinar is provided at no cost and offers 2.0 PDH’s for fully viewing the session.
