SIGNING, PAVEMENT MARKINGS, AND THE MUTCD: PART 3 of 3 – Warrants and Use of Signs

This training will provide a detailed look at Sections 1, 2, 3, and 5 of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). This will be a great opportunity for participants to get a good understanding of the requirements of these sections. The training will stress understanding of the MUTCD and its principles and will provide an overview of the MUTCD. We will have a detailed discussion of Part 1) General Information, Part 2) Signing, Part 3) Pavement Markings, and Part 5) Traffic Control Devices for Low Volume Roads.
- Know the basic guidelines for sign usage and the method of installation per the MUTCD.
- Appropriately use the reasons or warrants for proper sign selection.
- Identify the standards and guidelines for installation of pavement markings.
- List the basics of temporary traffic control.
- Describe how to protect yourself from potential liability.
In session three, attendees will learn the guidelines for longitudinal markings (striping) and transverse markings (words, symbols, stop lines, crosswalks, etc.). We will also review the basics of temporary traffic control and how to protect yourself from potential liability.

This webinar is provided at no cost and will award a certificate of training listing the Professional Development Hours (PDHs) or a certificate of completion verifying your attendance. Certificates will be awarded only for fully attending and completing this webinar. Each session in the series will award 2.0 PDHs. A total of 6.0 PDHs can be earned for fully attending all sessions.
