Second Round: FDOT Intersection Control Evaluation (ICE) Training; Day 2-ICE for Analysts

Course Overview:
The Department of Transportation is conducting a second round of Intersection Control Evaluation (ICE) Training at seven Districts in Florida. The target audience is FDOT District Design Engineers, or delegates, FDOT District Traffic Operations Engineers or delegates, FDOT Consultants and Local Agency practitioners. Mandatory ICE evaluations and selecting alternative intersection designs such as roundabouts, RCUTs and MUTs to improve overall intersection safety and operations will become effective January 1, 2020.

Course Description:
Day 2 – ICE for Analysts
Full day training from 8 am to 5 pm – Hands-on laptop training working on the details of the Stage 1 and Stage 2 analysis. Attendees will use the ICE spreadsheets to include CAP-X, SPICE, ICE Tool and the ICE Form. The training will be for two intersections within Florida previously studied for ICE implementation. This course is intended for those conducting ICE analysis. Day 2 attendees are required to bring laptops as this is hands on training using excel spreadsheets. (7.5 PDH Credits).
