Modeling a Biofuel Supply Chain Between Urban Centers

February 15 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

This webinar will provide an overview of a recent study completed at the USF Supply Chain Innovation Lab regarding supply chain optimization and mode selection regarding a new alternative fuel supply chain. The study was funded by USDA and FAA, and the objective was to develop a bottom-up analysis for the Carinata supply chain in order to produce alternative fuels such as jet fuel, diesel, and naphtha.

During the project, a partnership with USDOT Volpe National Transportation Systems Center was developed and their Freight and Fuel Transportation Optimization Tool (FTOT) was utilized for the logistics optimization analysis to determine optimal modes and routes of transportation, which will minimize logistics costs. In addition, the overall CO2 produced was also determined to minimize the impact of logistics from this bottom-up supply chain development/modeling.

🚩This course offers 1 PDH for fully viewing the webinar.
🚩Please note – Florida local agencies are being given first priority!
