Estimating Greenhouse Gas Emissions in Transportation – A Toolbox for Local Agencies

May 14 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

This webinar is designed to help local agencies learn how to use tools to estimate Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions in transportation on their roads and counties. We’ll show you how to measure the impact of traffic on air quality with easy-to-use tools that anyone can learn. You’ll discover how this knowledge can save your agency money and contribute to a more sustainable transportation system.

During this session, we will provide an overview of the transportation system’s contribution to the produced Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions in Florida and the United States. We’ll discuss approaches to estimating GHG emissions, along with their pros and cons. This session will also cover two user-friendly tools for estimating GHG emissions, which use Vehicle Miles Traveled (VMT) as their input unit.

By attending this training, attendees will:

  • Uncover the traffic-air pollution connection (focusing on GHG emissions) and explore the various ways to estimate these emissions.
  • Learn how Vehicle Miles Traveled (VMT) helps estimate emissions on your streets and across your county.
  • Explore real-world examples for estimating GHG emissions at both the roadway and county levels.
