Designing for Complete Streets Part 2 of 3 – Designing for Context

May 13 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

This 3-Part webinar series will build upon the Introduction to Designing for Complete Streets webinar by going into further detail about Complete Streets concepts and how to create streets that are safe and functional for all users. Those concepts start with an overview streets and their role as public spaces and various land use contexts and functions that streets need to provide in communities. Complete Streets approaches will be reviewed, including how to identify place-based priorities and criteria – such as design speeds and non-motorized facility types appropriate for those contexts. The webinar series will provide examples of real-world situations and strategies to address the typical planning and design issues encountered from individual street corners to system-level management.

This training provides a detailed overview of the core concepts of Complete Streets and is ideal for those working in engineering, planning, architecture, land development, health, recreation, law enforcement, or elected officials. The webinar introduces various topics, design approaches, and applicable reference guides to put the concepts into practice.
