Road Safety Audits – Session 2

March 24 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

The Florida LTAP Center will be transitioning all of our in-classroom workshops and trainings to remote instruction until at least the end of April. Please visit our COVID-19 web page for updates.

The in-classroom workshops that were scheduled for Lake City, Tampa, and Orlando on March 23-25 are being canceled. In their place, we are now offering a 3-part webinar series.

Road Safety Audits 3-Part Webinar Series (to replace the in-classroom workshops in Lake City, Tampa, and Orlando)

  • Session 1 – Introduction and Procedures (3/23/2020, 10am-12pm)
  • Session 2 – Common Issues and Challenges (3/24/2020, 10am-12pm)
  • Session 3 – Examples and Case Study (3/25/2020, 10am-12pm)

You are welcome to register for one, two, or all three sessions. Each individual webinar session will award 2.0 PDHs. Up to 6.0 PDHs can be earned for attending and completing all three sessions.

The training will go over the Road Safety Audit (or RSA) and its application as a formal safety performance examination of an existing or future road or intersection by an independent, multidisciplinary team. An RSA qualitatively estimates and reports on potential road safety issues and identifies opportunities for improvements in safety for all road users.

The training will cover the FHWA Road Safety Audit Guidelines and point you to resources you can access to learn more about RSAs and the benefits of RSAs. Important things you will learn include the formal RSA process, the need for an independent team, why it needs to be multidisciplinary, and what kinds of things are often found when doing a RSA.
