The Florida Board of Professional Engineers (FBPE) continuing education requirements state, “Professional Engineers licensed in Florida must take 18 continuing education (CE) course hours every two years in order to renew their licenses. Of the 18 hours, one hour must relate to the Florida laws and rules of Professional Engineers from a Board-approved provider, and one hour must relate to professional ethics.” The Florida LTAP Center is pleased to partner with instructor, Larry Hagen, to offer these two webinars.
It is important to note, the webinars below are offered at no-cost and will only provide a notification of completion for those viewing at least 50 minutes of the training. Attendance will be verified through the GoToWebinar post-webinar report and notification of completion will be provided to attendees via email approximately one week after the training.
Due to special processing requirements, attendees will need to pay $5.00 per training and submit a written exam (details below) to the instructor to obtain the PDH certificate required for FBPE continuing education. The payment will need to be made online directly to the instructor and instructions for payment will be provided along with the notification of completion.
Ethics Training for Engineers

This one-hour session will cover the basics of ethics for engineers and why ethics are important. Attendees will learn the basic philosophical underpinnings of ethics and receive resources for more information on ethics. All Florida Professional Engineers (PEs) must complete one hour of Ethics in order to renew their engineering license.
An exam will be provided as a handout during this training. The exam must be completed by the attendee and will need to be submitted along with the $5.00 payment to the instructor, in order to receive a PDH certificate.

Laws & Rules for Florida Engineers

This one-hour webinar covers the Laws & Rules pertinent to the practice of engineering in the State of Florida. All Florida PE’s must complete one hour of Laws & Rules to renew their engineering license. The course will cover changes in the rules since the last renewal and equips the engineer with the resources they need to stay abreast of the rule changes.

Instructor Bio:
Larry Hagen, P.E., PTOE is the owner of Hagen Consulting Services, LLC. He has worked in the public sector, the private sector, and academia. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) and a former board member of the Florida Section of ITE, serving as President in 2002. He holds Bachelors and Masters degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Florida. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Florida and Georgia, and is a certified Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) and a certified Road Safety Professional (RSP). He has over 30 years of experience doing transportation engineering work throughout the state of Florida.
